Local Green Building Expert Presents at National Building Commissioning Conference
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Green building is fast-growing and ever-changing in today’s energy conscious world, and Nashville-based SSRCx, the commissioning subsidiary of Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. is offering its expertise on a national level.
Paul McCown with SSRCx will present “Commissioning Changes in LEED 2009” at the AABC Commissioning Group’s (ACG) 5th Annual Conference on Total Building Commissioning on April 17 in Chicago. McCown provides LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) consulting, existing building commissioning and energy analysis through the Sustainable Solutions Group of SSRCx.
His presentation at the annual conference will detail the changes regarding commissioning requirements in all of the LEED 2009 updates, with a special emphasis on the complete overhaul to commissioning requirements that came with LEED-EB (LEED for Existing Buildings) for Operations and Maintenance. Commissioning is a systematic process of ensuring that the owner’s operational needs are met, building systems perform efficiently and building operators are properly trained.
This year’s conference will host some of the nation’s leading experts addressing commissioning services required in today’s building environment, including new energy policies and strategies, integrating measurement and verification of existing buildings, and system integration testing.
