SSRCx recently helped Vanderbilt University by securing LEED silver certification for The Commons, Vanderbilt’s first-year student community scheduled to open next fall. The university chose to go green as a result of positive feedback from the student body. The Cx team focused on individual heating and cooling controls, increased indoor fresh air ventilation, use of natural light and making sure interior materials such as carpets, wall coverings, sealants, and adhesives contained a low volatile organic compound (VOC) rating.
