10/24/2008

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) has promoted Jamie Qualk, LEED ® AP, to vice president and team leader of the Sustainable Solutions Group (SSG) – a team of LEED AP experts specializing in the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings according to guidelines set by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).  SSG is part of SSRCx, a wholly owned subsidiary of SSR specializing in Commissioning and all related disciplines, including the Sustainable Marketplace.

In his new role, Qualk is responsible for managing SSG’s operation, marketing and business development. Previously, he served as the director of LEED® facilitation sales for SSRCx, LLC and was part of the group that formed the SSG team.

“Jamie has been an integral part of the success of the SSG team since its inception,” said Mike Coyne, managing principal of SSRCx.  “His passion for the sustainable design industry and the issues surrounding it, along with his innovation as a leader will continue to bring great success and recognition for SSRCx as a leading commissioning firm.”

Qualk earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Vanderbilt University. He is a LEED® accredited professional. Also, Qualk is an active member of the Middle Tennessee chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, the Tennessee Environmental Council, the Tennessee Pollution Prevention Roundtable in the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, and the Lipscomb University Sustainability Curriculum Advisory Group.

A regular speaker and presenter, he recently addressed energy and sustainability topics at the 2008 Global Construction Summit in Beijing in April, 2008 and the World Energy and Engineering Congress in Washington D.C. October.
