Core LEED-NC Services

Benefits of LEED-NC
When implemented properly, LEED-EB requirements can be beneficial for both the environment and the building owner.

According to USGBC, on average, U.S. buildings:
•   consume 12% of our drinkable water
•   consume 65% of our electricity
•   consume 35-40% of primary energy
•   consume 40% of our raw materials
•   generate 48% of our carbon emissions

Green buildings exhibit improved indoor air quality, resulting in:
•   an average of $58 billion saved annually on sick leave
•   $180 billion saved in increased worker productivity
•   30-50% savings on energy
•   40% savings on water
•   70% savings on solid waste
•   35% reduction in carbon emissions

LEED AP Facilitation
Our approach to LEED facilitator is two-fold – inform and empower.  This produces a cyclical effect, where the design team becomes more and more familiar with sustainable design and becomes more able to “take ownership” of the sustainable design aspects of the project.  In other words, the design team has to stamp the drawings, so they should get the credit. Here is the definition of "facilitate" that will give a clearer representation of how we approach each project.

Facilitate:
1) To make easier or less difficult; help forward (an action, a process, etc.): Careful planning facilitates any kind of work.  2) To assist the progress of.

 Commissioning
SSRCx firmly believes that commissioning transcends any one or two phases of a construction project. Just as there are three phases in the life of a project (Planning and Design/Construction/Operational), there also are three phases in the commissioning of a project. We refer to our approach to commissioning as the "Triangle Approach." Click here to find out more about what SSRCx can do to fulfill your commissioning needs.

Energy Modeling
We will provide an energy model for the project beginning in the DD phase and continuing throughout design. The energy model can be used for design assistance in comparing system types and other aspects of design (i.e. compare insulation thicknesses of wall sections) in addition to properly documenting energy performance for the LEED submittal process.
