Why RECs are important

Renewable energy is energy produced by sources such as wind, sun and water used in small-hydro projects. This energy is free, however there is still a lot of investment needed to build new renewable energy projects and enhance technologies which make the current price for renewable energy a bit more expensive than continuing to burn fossil fuels in plants that were built and paid for long ago. Our investment in RECs supports clean, inexhaustible sources of energy now, and for future generations.
