Harlinsdale Farm

Completion Date: July, 2009

Estimated Cost: Phase 1 - $2,623,000

Description: SSR recently partnered with Archimania and Dalhoff Thomas Daws for the design of Harlinsdale farm — a historic 200-acre Tennessee Walking Horse farm purchased by the City of Franklin from the Harlin family. After weeks of public input, including four days of small-group charrettes and multiple design meetings with City staffers, the vision for Harlinsdale Farm took shape.

The initial design phase involved infrastructure, including the provision of new water lines and wastewater services for existing and future structures. In addition, two existing farm-tenant houses were converted into new restroom facilities.

Reclaimed water service was also provided to the farm for irrigation, and SSR designed a new pond for use as a storm-water detention and reclaimed water storage facility. For better access to the farm's amenities, roadway improvements were required including new interior access roads and two new entrance roads. Grading and site design for on-site and overflow parking rounded out this construction phase.
